The e-mark is helping increasing consumer confidence online regarding payment, treatment of personal information, use of e-mail, and with regards to guarantees and agreements. It also functions as an easily recognizable symbol of quality, showing consumers that a web shop bearing the e-mark operates after technical and ethical standards that exceed those required by law. The e-mark improves the conditions for developing e-commerce through increasing consumer confidence in online security.
